Privacy Policy

When a parent creates or edits a list, Dear Babbo stores the list title, gift labels, optional product links, optional image URLs or uploaded gift pictures, gift order, the selected gift, and the time of selection.

Dear Babbo also stores two private random tokens for each list: one for the owner link and one for the child link. These tokens are what make the private links work.

The child does not need to create an account, provide an email address, enter a name, upload a profile, or make a payment.

A child selection is stored as an anonymous pick for that private list. Parents should avoid putting child personal information into list titles, gift labels, links, or images.

List information is used to show the parent-created gift options to the child, save the child's current pick, and show that pick to the parent through the owner link.

Dear Babbo does not sell list information, use it for advertising profiles, or send marketing emails from the MVP.

If a parent adds a product link, Dear Babbo may fetch basic page metadata so the parent can double-check the link while editing. Preview metadata is shown as a temporary editing aid and is not stored as separate list data.

If someone opens an outbound product link, they leave Dear Babbo and visit that third-party site. Dear Babbo uses no-referrer protections where possible, but the third-party site controls its own privacy practices.

Like most web apps, hosting and database providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, request time, and error logs to operate and secure the service.

Dear Babbo is built to avoid child accounts and child profiles, but private links and list contents should still be treated as sensitive.

The parent can edit the list, delete individual gifts, and clear the selected gift from the owner page. Losing the owner link means there is no account-based recovery path.

Full list deletion and account-based data management are not part of the current MVP.
